Bay Area Childrens Mueum

The children's museum is always a must for us. We were all so excited this time to go because we knew Carter would be able to enjoy it this time around. When we went last summer he wasn't even crawling yet so he pretty much stayed put in the stroller. Both boys absolutely loved it. Thank goodness we did a little back to school shopping while we were there or the boys would have frozen in the shorts and short sleeves I brought them.

Train Tracks and Choo Choo's are Carter's favorite. He literally could play with them for hours.

With the museum being at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge it sure makes for a beautiful view especially on a non-cloudy day.

Boston loved the water tables this go around.

Boston is the master track builder in our home. He's pretty darn good at it too if I don't say so myself.

Trav flew in that morning and it was fun to have him there for one of our favorite activities.

Howarth Park

Howarth park is always a favorite place to visit. The boys loved the train ride and could have played there all day.

Carter was a little unsure about his brothers bouncing on the balance beam.
The under dog kings. Carter is obsessed with the big kid swings and just like Boston wants an under dog every other second.

Grandpas Garden and Berry Pickin'

A definite bonus to living here is the easy drive up North to Grandma and Grandpa Wilson's house. The boys and I headed out one morning at 6 and were there around 2. It was awesome to be there so quick and the boys were champs on the drive. For boys who get board on a 20 minute drive around town they sure do great on road trips.

One thing the boys always love to do is help Grandpa in his garden. One of my favorite visuals from the trip in when Carter walked inside with a handful of squash. He had the proudest look on his face I wish I had a pic.

We took a walk around strawberry park and were lucky that the blackberries were mostly nice and ripe. Mom Wilson and I couldn't pick them fast enough for the boys to eat. They were seriously loving it!

They love it when they actually get to pick something.

Depot Days

We used to go to the Home Depot Kids Day all the time in TX, but haven't been here yet. The boys were so excited and Carter LOVED being able to do what Boston did and as usual Boston was more the excited about it too.

Pretty excited about their new trucks they made.
After we came home and painted them. They both took this task very serious. It was so hot that morning they had to work fast because our paint kept dring out.

Mormon night at the Angels game

We went with a big group of people here in Orange to the official Mormon night at the Angels game. It's always fun to be at the ball park, but it's definitely not as fun when you don't really care who wins.

The boys were troopers and lasted the whole game. I think knowing there were fireworks at the end made that happen, because Trav and I were definitely ready to leave before the game was over. Boston was really worried everyone would think he was an Angels fan because he was at the game so he made sure to wear his Rangers shirt. We are going to have to do some convincing for Carter, because he is all about the Angels. Every time we drive past the stadium he yells "Angels" and gets so excited.

Fun at the Park

One thing I love here in CA is all the parks full of huge trees and beatiful bike paths. Boston could ride around them for hours and Carter doesn't seem to mind his time in the bike trailer eating snacks.
The three amigos who decide which path we take.

Carter and Eddie are two of my favorite little people.

Stoma Surgery

On July 29th Carter had surgery to close up his Stoma (hole in his neck).  We have been waiting and so excited for this surgery. It hasn't been very fun to bath this kid for the last two years. Trying to keep water out of that is darn near impossible especially the older he is getting. I always felt so bad every time water got in there. He would cough so hard and he hated it.
One last look at the hole the night before surgery. He has refused to keep a band aid on it the last two months which has definitely brought on a lot of weird looks when we are out in public. It is so normal to us that I almost wonder why people are staring then we just think its funny because that would be a little odd to see.
We had to be to the surgery center at 6:00 am. Little man is not of fan of early rising, but he sure was a trooper. Trav and I were a tad bit nervous getting back into this whole surgery thing. For a while there it felt so normal. Thankfully we have and incredible Doctor who actually knows Dr. McClay from Dallas. They are on the pediatric ENT board together. It was very comforting when he layed out the same plan as McClay. One thing this doc has that most pediatric surgeons don't is bedside manners. He is actually very personal which is nice for a change. Needless to say we are big fans of Dr. Camilon.
The surgery lasted about an hour. They did a bronchoscopy and a laranoscopy and closed up the hole. He made and arch incision on top and bottom of the stoma and closed it up from the inside out re-attacthing all the muscles and making it so that when it is all healed it will be pretty much unnoticeable. We were home by 10:30 which was crazy for us. They kick you out of here pretty quick in CA which is more than fine with us. He pretty much slept a majority of the day.
After. It looks pretty intense here, but that is mostly due to the purple surgical marker where he outlined the incision lines.
Come 6:00 that night you would never know he had anything done. Besides being pretty hoarse from the bronch he was back to normal. I am sure his climbing all over the place didn't fall into their "low activity" category.
The next morning Boston went over to Diego's house. I think this is the first time Carter has ever parked himself on the couch and sat still. It lasted 20 minutes! He has enjoyed his cold smooth diet which has consisted of mostly green smoothies and ice cream. He of course wont ever let his trusty banana chips from Trader Joes go. He sure is one tough cookie!
